Welcome to the Friends of Bolin Creek website! Our goal is to preserve the Bolin Creek watershed, which has recently become impaired (meaning poor water quality and low biodiversity). No one has been able to pinpoint the reason for this impairment, but there are several likely contributing factors, including increased amounts of runoff from impervious surfaces, sedimentation, hydrological changes, and drought. It is important to protect Bolin Creek because it feeds into Jordan Lake, which supplies water for half a million people, and it is a habitat for dozens of different species, including the rare four-toed salamander.
